Hi everyone,

I’m Gilbert I’m 28 years old and I currently live in the Netherlands.

I’m new here and just weeks ago I started on this new path in my life. The path of Real Estate.

A little intro about myself;

I’m currently employed at Zeton in the Netherlands, my position is Construction Technician. I really like the job but it is not so satisfied as having financial freedom. Doing things I like whenever I want. I used to talk to friends, co-workers and other people about the dreams I was always having, becoming financial independent. Everyone told me it is out of my reach and stuff so eventually I got demotivated by those answers. I felt lonely because I kept asking myself why, why are they thinking so small, why do they think it’s impossible to reach. So I kind of gave up on my dreams.

But....

Luckily a few weeks ago I found this new path. This new path which kind off lit the fire that went out years ago. It was the right time at the right moment. I had taken a few weeks off from work and I was sitting at home just like any other day. I was scrolling through my LinkedIn page when I came across a invitation to a webinar from GrantCardone, to 10X my life.

I watched the webinar and got so excited and motivated again. But the thing that got the fire really burning was Real Estate. Grant was talking about how Real Estate one of his greatest passion is. (Before that moment I always thought that Real Estate is only for the people who are very rich). So I started researching Real Estate (focussed on Real Estate in my country) and I found out that, I was wrong to think it was only for rich people.

A new path was build. It still were a few bricks but it was a very promising path. I started asking around about Real Estate. I searched for many groups (on facebook mainly) and started asking people question about advice and tips on how to begin. Everyone told me directly to start a course, except for this one lady who told me to find out first what I want with Real Estate and find out where you would like to start, study the house prizes, and join Biggerpockets. I was very thankful for her advice because I am someone I love to learn new things, I like the challenge to learn a new skills and gain new knowledge. But when someone tells me directly to go pay and follow a course I start to question those people. Because when someone asks for advice I would like to know what kind of advice that person wants or I would want to know (in this case with Real Estate) what is the persons goal with investing in Real Estate. Some people are busier with selling the course they have than educating/helping others reach their potential and goals.

I am happy that I have found this community. Since I became a member and read a few topics and see how everyone in encouraging one another it motivates me aswel. I am here to gain the knowledge I need to begin, to create a network with like minded people and help others do the same.

If anyone has questions, feel free to ask. You never know how someone can help you until you ask.

Let’s help each other in any way we can. Let’s build a network.

Best regards, Gilbert
