@Priscilla Kulawiak welcomed and encouraged. There’s no better group of folks to learn from as you get ready to do your first deal. When I joined I had 1 rental (which was a rental by accident because it was my first home and was upside down) but by the end of this year I plan to have 6 active SFRs.

JRLA General Membership Meeting

Thursday, April 11th 2019

6:30 networking, 7pm program

Jameson's Pub, 2755 Black Road, Joliet

The meeting will be focused on financing single family and multi-family deals with presentations from a local lender and the Chicago Community Loan Fund . Cross posted in the marketplace events section.

The Chicago Community Loan Fund

The mission of the Chicago Community Loan Fund is to provide flexible, affordable and responsible financing and technical assistance for community stabilization and development efforts and initiatives that benefit low- to moderate-income neighborhoods, families and individuals throughout metropolitan Chicago (Including Will County).

CCLF was created to ensure that Chicagoland community developers (including small and emerging groups) would have a lender to turn to for harder-to-underwrite projects and enterprises. CCLF often works with challenging but promising projects that other financial institutions will not or cannot finance.

@Nick Giulioni thanks, Nick. I’ve got a great property manager that I’m very happy with. One of the challenges we’ve run into is finding a reliable worker to do this stuff, but I’ll make a run at it!

I'm rehabbing my 3rd SFH and plan to hold as a rental. My goal is to outsource busy work so I can focus on financing and finding deals. One sticky widget I need advice on: what about basic landscape maintenance??? Specifically gutter cleaning, leaf clean up and weed maintenance. Is this something a property manager can do? Do you hire landscaper? Advice please!

Hi Folks- I am seeking Opportunity Zone Fund investment partners for an apartment building in Joliet. There are incentives from the City and the building is squarely in the Opportunity Zone. I am also interested in discussing other, less fully-baked opportunity zone potential projects in Joliet with developers and opportunity zone investors. If you are interested or have suggestions for where to seek out these type of investment partners, please let me know - thank you!
