So true Ronnie. $2k+ for a guru is definitely not for me right now at this point. Thanks for your input

But you won't have the same market knowledge as a full time Realtor will (or should have) to help you in your investing career which I believe can be worth a lot than just $$$.

 ah ok! Thanks Colin!

I am looking at a license as a supplement to investing and getting my hands on more material to gain more knowledge.

Hello,

I was wondering if acquiring a RE license would be a good step and beneficial for my potential future in retail estate investing.

Hi all!

My name is Gibrhann (Pronounced like LeBraun but replace 'L' with a 'J', ya weird) I am 27 years old computer science student. I have about a year and half to go to graduate and work part-time as a helpdesk/server engineer. My goal one day is to start a tech startup or invest in start ups. What interests me about real estate is that I feel it would be a good starting point to learn how to be an entrepreneur.

I am so glad I stumbled upon BP! I have dove headfirst into the wealth of information and contact that it offers.

Hello,

First post yay! Anywho, I currently attend college and live in the area. There are many houses for sale that are 4+ bedrooms that would be great places for students looking to rent.  I am thinking that this might be a good start to start investing. I would also plan to live in the house so I will be able to experience first hand issues and other circumstances that happen when renting property.

This is just a thought I had and was looking to see if you guys think this would be a good starting point for a beginner. First, I want to get really educated on all stuff real estate before I start making deals and looking for property.

Thanks!
