Thanks BP for all the great feedback! Sounds like the Heloc would also be the way to go about doing it!

Hello BP! Anyone ever use your personal home equity (basically your own residence) to purchase a real estate investment? Good or Bad?

Hello BP members! Newbie here and exited to get going! Me and my family live in Norridge, IL. It is surrounded by Chicago. Anyone know of any local real estate investor clubs on the northwest side? I  grew up in northwest Indiana. I am also looking to invest in that market. I have been educating myself listening to webinars and reading real estate books. Looking forward to learning from the forums as well.

 Hello and welcome!

This is a great place to start! I wish you the best of luck.

 Thank You Tom

Yes started with the education myself here. Also doing all the podcasts & webinars too. How long have you been an agent in Crown point. I grew up there.

Yes, the podcasts are awesome and very helpful. My wife and I became licensed a little over a year ago. We also plan on getting our Illinois license soon.

 That's great!

Welcome George.  Check out CCIA (Chicago Creative Investors Association).  They meet once a month on Sundays.  Beginning of meeting they have investors promote there deals; wholesaling, partners, funding, etc.  Usually about 100 people.  New speaker each night.  They will try to sell you something.  PM me if you need more info.

Good Luck.

Thanks @Kenneth Garrett for the info.
