You absolutely can be licensed in multiple states. You will likely have to complete each state's real estate course and the state exam for licensing. Some states have what's called reciprocity, where you would not have to take the course. You would still need pass their state exam in most cases. Hope that helps. If you get licensed in one state, then can check if that state reciprocates with any others.

@Brandon Quinones If the broker is not providing training then they may not be the best brokerage for you. Check you local realtor association and MLS to see what classes they offer. Our brokerage offers upwards of 90 hours of live training and countless hours of on-demand training. You will also be assigned to a mentor to get you up and running. I am also available to help you with any questions you might have. Feel free to call, text or email anytime.

@Andy Sabisch It is very common to have a minimum commission that an agent will provide services for. It is a fallacy that agents get paid for not doing anything. Currently, the seller generally pays the commission in which the listing broker shares with the selling broker. This general practice has recently come under some scrutiny because the seller is wondering why he/she should pay somebody who is working for the buyer. In the future, the buyer may be responsible for paying the entire buyer agent's commission. Remember, she is working for you.

I don't think that it is fair to put a morality tag on one tiny aspect of capitalism at the exclusion of the rest of it.
