Post: Locating and approaching a homeowner

There is an abandoned property in our neighborhood. It is a distressed property. Drug activity, a real mess. But it is the probably the largest house in the area, around 5500 square feet. Would be worth a lot of money after repairs. I think the owner is still in the area. See cars in the driveway occasionally but no one living there full-time.

What is the best method for finding a homeowner that is not currently living in the house? Private investigator?

Also, what is the best method of making an offer to a cold homeowner?

Hi all. Looking for info on getting started in portable storage. Not a facility, just renting out and delivering portable units to customers. I have a few questions...

  • Where are you sourcing the portable storage units? What are you paying?
  • Is anyone manufacturing their own storage units?

Thanks.

Hello everybody,

I'm in the very beginning stages of researching the ins-and-outs or putting several tiny houses or container houses on a piece of land to be used as short-term vacation rentals. I live in Santa Fe, NM so there is a steady stream of tourists coming here.

I do not/have not owned vacation rentals in the past and I am looking for a little guidance on first steps. Particularly, I am looking for suggestions on how to find out if I can even put multiple RVs and/or containers on a property.

Thanks,

Gary
