I have also been looking at properties in Westrbrook, and South Portland. I'm a bit hesitant to invest in a property in Westbrook because of the neighborhood. South Portland seems to be have much better neighborhoods. I'm still trying to figure out how to find good metrics on determining the quality of a neighborhood. Right now I'm just looking and police reports and word of mouth.

Thanks for the welcomes! Still working my way through the podcasts and webinars. I have also read through the "Ultimate Beginners Guide to REI". I plan on closing on my first property within a year.

Hi BP!

I'm a new investor in the Portland Maine area. It seems like a sellers market right now, but I am ready to take on the challenge of hunting for a good deal. I've already gone pro on BP, which might have been a bit premature in hindsight, but hopefully it shows how willing I am to commit to this venture.

I am currently living with my parents which has given me the opportunity to save up capital for my first investment. I currently have a full time job working in the field of IT. My experience with technology has shown me you will never have all the details upfront for any given project. You have to plan for the unexpected!

I have been saving up for this investment for over a year, and now I'm ready to start looking for properties. I plan on investing in a Multi-Family property, and living in one of the units myself. I am more than able to afford an FHA loan, and possibly a regular mortgage depending on the property. I still have to go to the bank to go over my options for a loan.

This is the plan so far. Of course this is subject to change depending on potential partnerships. What is the etiquette on BP for requesting new connections? Don't want to feel like a spammer.

Anyways, I'm excited to be here, and can't wait to work with all of you!
