Go to BUILD YOUR TEAM at the top of your screen, and you can search for other MEMBERS or LOCAL MEETUPS. You can also check meetup.com or search Facebook for real estate investment groups, clubs, or meetings in your area.

You can also contact @Samuel Eddinger He is an investor and property manager in CT.

Thank you very much for your time and advice I truly appreciate it . I'll check those out

Welcome, Gabriel! Hartford is a popular market with a lot of agents, lenders, and local investors. Introducing yourself on the forums here is a great step towards networking.

I'd encourage you to also set up some keyword alerts for "Hartford" and related terms like house-hacking, duplexes, etc. This will help you plug into the community and see when folks are talking about your local market.

 Hi Scott -

Thank you for the advice and your help . I'll definitely do more research and fix up my keywords. I appreciate your time

So I am new to real estate investing - currently don't have any deals or projects.

im located in Connecticut -

Im a beginner and am looking for experience and knowledge and more information - as a beginner I want as much information as possible with the experience

I know a lot of people who start- they network, meet different investors and different people in the real estate world .

So my question to you is - if you're from CT - are there any meet ups or networking events that happen - that beginners are welcome ?

If not from CT and there's any networking events or groups online - id love to hear which groups you recommend/ webinars .

lastly, any advice on how to properly approach investing professionals as a beginner - would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and your advice - I truly appreciate it .

short answer - no, you don't need to start with a mentor, and you probably shouldn't.

some things you can do: go to meetups and join Facebook groups and start making friends and building a network.  call lenders, talk to agents, talk to property managers.  start your own group of beginning investors.  you will have to put some time in.

also, not your main question, but: wholesaling is spectacularly difficult.  it's a volume game.  you can't make a few calls and land a deal.  it's volume, volume, volume.

happy to chat more on whatever you like.

 Hi Nicholas -

Thank you so much for all this information and the advice - I've been seeing that everyone says to go and join groups and communities and attend events . So everyone agrees that's a great first step. I'll definitely be doing that - and looking around and seeing what's near me

thanks for the heads up about how is more difficult getting started on wholesaling-

I appreciate your advice and time

Thanks

Hi - so I've been wanting to get into real estate investing, whether it be Renting , Land or Wholesaling (which interest me the most) . Again starting out seems like the harder part - especially if I've never done it before .

aside from my own townhouse (In CT)  - That's the only property I own and have equity in . So that's about as much real estate , as I have under my belt .

I was thinking - as a beginner - is mentorship a good way to go about it . I want to learn as much as possible - I don't mind starting from 0 and just learning and seeing everything I have to do before jumping into investments. Even if I have to start out by working for free for someone - all I want is knowledge and experience.

what is something to look for when looking for a mentor in real estate? What are some red flags ? What advice would you have for a beginner like me?  What are good ways to get a mentor?

Thank you for your help and your time - I look forward to speaking with you .
