My name is Frank Cardenas and I am new to real estate investing.  I do not have any experience in real estate just yet but I am willing to provide some time to help in whatever is needed to gain experience.  I am a mechanical design engineer, with my background and experience in drafting plans I can provide new plan layouts to any new project.  What I expect in return is knowledge from an experienced investor so I can go about approaching my projects in the same manner.

Thank you,

Recently my brother and his wife were given the option to take over their grandmothers home. The home had a reverse mortgage owing about $175,000 still on it. The value of the house in that neighborhood is at about $500,000 in a up and coming suburb in Houston, TX near a hospital. My question is my brother wants to take on the loan and how can he refinance it to get the ARV? Is there any kind of time restraints to holding the property once he gets the loan, before he can refinance? Any help would be great.

Thank you,

@Frank Patalano

I feel part of what’s holding me back is maybe getting too much information and maybe too many different options of going about purchasing my first property. All the information I see on BiggerPockets is awesome but I I feel overwhelmed with the various methods of rent/hold, flip and brrr. What’s the best method? This is what’s holding me back.
