Hi all. I am a U.S. Citizen living overseas since 2015. Up to then (and for over 18 years in the U.S.) I had an impeccable credit history. Now, after 5 years abroad I would like to invest on real estate in the U.S. and I am doing LOTS of reading on how to do it as an overseas investor. My first big task is trying to understand how the different actors of the financial system (banks /mortgage and loan associations, etc.) will evaluate me at the time of applying for a loan. I am not planning to relocate back to the U.S. anytime soon.

More info:

1. As said, I am a U.S. citizen

2. I make a demonstrable, good salary in my country (I am an attorney -also admitted in the U.S.)

3. I still have bank accounts and cards in the U.S.

If any member of these forum have any advise/tip/good info to share with me, I would be extremely grateful.

Many thanks,

Felipe

Hi there. I am new to this site. I am Chilean-American attorney (admitted in Chile and NY), currently living in Santiago, Chile. I have private investors that would like to invest on real estate in the U.S. I see that this site (and forums) are mostly for the U.S. market but I am wondering if there are people here considering foreign investors and/or if there is any forum where these topics are discussed. I am familiar with the market in NY (Westchester county), where I lived for 13 years but I am open to hear from other markets too.

Thanks,

Felipe
