I just purchased a duplex in CA February 2019 and the rents were way under market. One individual had a lease that was good until September 2019 and the other had no lease in place. I gave the one with no lease a 60 day notice of rent increase, then gave the other a 60 day notice July 1st, effective date of increase for September 1st. NOW I have to lower the rents on January 1st 2020 because I raised them more than the allotted amount. My question is what month can I raise the rent again after the correction of January 1st, 2020? I know you cannot raise the rent more than twice in one year equal to the allowed amount. So the date in which I can raise the rent again ONCE for the whole amount would be, not twice? Thank you

Pretty much same problem I am having. What about when we revert back to the new allowed rents in January when can we raise them again? What month can we raise the rent again after January 1st because we are going back to March 15th 2019. Can we raise rent again March 15th 2020?
