Im on the edge of pulling the trigger on my first property. I have been doing my homework. I know that my strategy is to buy and hold. I am currently studying for my RE license, as I am setting myself up to be able to purchase... with all the reading and researching, I still find myself second guessing where to start? I currently live in San Diego and would like to buy here, however knowing that I wouldn't be able to get much for my $ I thought about relocating to an affordable area buy a duplex owner occupied in Phoenix or Boise. Once I do that, after a few years try buying something in San Diego. I'm trying to be creative and willing to do what it takes to be able to buy something eventually in San Diego that isn't a shoe box as a manner of speaking. I want to learn from the process and see how far I can go and slowly build a nice portfolio. Any thoughts or insight would be very much appreciate.
