Hey Steven, We currently have an Airstream (vintage trailer) on our property that we Airbnb. We prefer to rent only for short term trips because the camper is meaningful to us and we don't want to risk it getting messed up. However, we make around $300-500 a month (have had people offer $5000 for 4 months, but again we don't want people living in our beloved airstream for long period of time). So pretty nice supplemental income. And, potentially, awesome income if you're okay with long term tenants and plan to get a nicer trailer. A couple things to consider depending on the type of trailer. You will need it hooked up to sewer and utilities. Which will cost money up front it not already established. (And monthly) If you do not do this, you would need to empty the holding tank (bathroom waste) frequently and also run an extension cord for power. Not ideal.. Need to also consider other luxuries other Airbnbs provide unless you're going for very low price point clients. I included our listing if you want to take a look at what we provide. Good luck!

thank you all. We should be done by the end of September. Painting and renovations to the porch should be complete by early September so we're thinking once that is complete, we'll put it on the market.

Another question for South Florida investors - what is your opinion on nice decks/fire pit areas. Do they add much value to your rent price?

Appreciate all the feedback.

I'm currently renovating a duplex in Fort Lauderdale, FL that I plan to house-hack. The inside of the apartment I plan to rent out is completely done, however there is still work to do on the outside of the building, such as painting, landscaping, putting up a new fence and renovating the front porch.

My question is, should I start to advertise the rental, even though the renovations are not done? I'm hesitant to post the un-finished unit (and pictures) online, because we want to attract top-dollar tenants. We should be done with renovations within the next month but it would be nice to get a renter in their ASAP.

Does anyone have experience with this? or have any opinion on if renters are able to "see your vision" for renovations? or is it best to wait until everything is complete and beautiful to get top dollar?

Thanks BP Community!

I used a product called TUBBY DIY bath refinishing and bathtub resurfacing kit. Although it was for a vintage airstream trailer restoration and not a rental, it only took a few hours and came out great. No complaints here. Ordered from tubbydiy.com Link to a demonstration video is below. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qEjLYk7xol0
