Hi Everyone!

I'm a civil engineering consultant who has been in the industry for about 3 years since graduating college. I work in the NYC metropolitan area. At this point, I'm realizing that being an engineering consultant is not for me and I'm looking for a career change. I have been doing a lot of research on REI and would like to start transitioning from civil engineering to real estate. I have my EIT certification and I'm about 1 year away from having enough experience to take the PE exam for my license. My work experience is construction admin & oversight for land development projects (working with/managing contractors is a big part of my job), reviewing site plan applications for compliance with local and state code, and civil design (mainly stormwater).

My question to you all; what kind of career can I transition to where I can use my engineering background to gain real estate experience while still working towards the PE exam?

Thank you everyone, stay safe!
