Hi @Mindy Jensen, You cleared this up well for me and this is exactly why I am asking! I certainly do not want to spend my life in jail so I wanted to reach out to the pros before making moves. I do plan on occupying one side since the SFH I have now will be rented out.

Thank you so much for taking time to respond. Newbie here and willing to learn and take advice!

Thank you @Tapiwa Wakatama. I appreciate the swift response. I will check with my credit union.

Hi Everyone!

I am pretty new to REI. I was hopping to get some pointers on my situation. I am refinancing my current fha loan(single family house) to conventional. My goal is to buy a duplex, rent one side, live in the other side and rent out my current single family. My question is, can I qualify for another FHA loan after this refi or should I just go conventional for the duplex?

Thanks for you input!
