Hi,

I'm a Canadian looking to invest in multi family units in the Chicago area. I've had the hardest time finding an agent that actually wants to sell. 

Example

I sent one of the agents I was trying to work with a list of 10 properties that I wanted more info on. I asked for rent roll and P/L statement for the last 24 months. I waited a full week before asking if anyone had replied. She said yes I have a few replies, I'll forward them to you tomorrow night. This was Monday last week and I've still haven't received anything.

I've had a few encounters with these types of agents. I'm looking for someone who can answer me quickly and who would like to sell properties. I'm ready to pull the trigger but I need to analyze some numbers before I make offers.

I'm new to biggerpockets and investing in the US. I'm Canadian. I've bought and flipped 1 house in the Chicago area. Crossing the boarder was an issue every time.

Does anyone know if I require a visa of any sort in order to buy and hold properties or where I could find the answer? The internet is unfortunately not very helpful in this instance.
