Hey all,
My wife and I should be closing on our first duplex to live in half later this month. I am looking for a lawyer and a CPA in Oshkosh, Fond du Lac or Green Bay Wisconsin area. If anyone has a good recommendation it would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Erik

Interest rates just saw a spike after Donald Trump got elected on Tuesday night. Do you think that interest rates are going to start climbing or do you think that they are going to stay put?

I read somewhere that the unexpectedness of Donald Trump would keep people hesitant from investing in more risky assets so mortgage backed securities would be where people turn keeping mortgage rates low. What do you guys think?

@Brian Eastman

Yes I was curious about the distribution from the IRA to avoid the 10% penalty.

I am leaving my current job and will be starting a new job soon. I want to use $10k of my 401k savings as a down payment on a 2-4 unit building that I plan on living in for a year.

Can I use any IRA company to do this? Do I need to have a CPA help me with this or can I just do it myself? Also if I use this money to make the down payment am I required to stay in the place for at least one year?

What are you plans for this property? Are you trying to rent it? If so what would be the rent you could charge?

Not sure why else you might be looking to buy this house but would need more information to help you with this one.

Sounds like you need to find one investment strategy and stick to it and start investing that way until you have a few deals under your belt and can start to move in a different direction if you choose.
