Thanks for the guidance everyone!

Hi BP community,

I am new to Real Estate investing and yet to make my first deal. I am actively looking for multi-family homes in the NE Minneapolis market and looking to do a house hack/owner occupy.

I have a variety of loans available to me (VA, FHA, conventional, and even a cash option (would want to refi after).

With so many variables at play, I am having a hard time deciding on what route to take to maximize returns. I have been getting some information from my lender but it is not his job to run each scenario with me...

Can anyone recommend a Real Estate specific financial adviser that is will to meet for an hourly or fixed rate to discuss a specific property strategy.

Thanks!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! I look forward to making our first deal this spring/ASAP. We have a great team in place and are working with a great lender and agent.

We could definitely benefit from a (flat or hourly fee) meeting with a more experienced investor/advisor.

We are specifically trying to run a few scenarios involving different financing options, cash to re-if, and long term exit strategies.

Any recommendations?!

Hi BP community!

I have been listening and following BP since December 2016 when I realized the power of real estate.

I was a traditional index fund, buy and hold investor for years but was never really passionate about it.  I have been a renter for years and always dreaded the thought of buying a HUGE liability, especially in a tight market. When I found BP I was instantly hooked and have been preparing to make my/our first deal (just bought an engagement ring to marry my high school sweet heart)!

A little about myself, I am a 8 year Marine Corps veteran (access to VA loans) and worked over-seas for a year. I have saved up a sizable amount (enough for $50k in rehab and down payment). I am A graduate of U of MN, where I studied business, construction management, and operations. I have a good paying (W2) job in NE Minneapolis and excellent credit. We even have access to cash to purchase outright (would want to do a cash-out refi). I have construction experience and am not afraid to get my hands dirty in doing repairs.

We are hoping to buy a duplex, rehab, and live in the other unit.

We are looking in the HOT and competitive NE Minneapolis area but are open to surrounding areas with rental tenant potential or Air B n B possibilities.
