I grew up in Cincinnati, when OTR was the neighborhood you avoided if at all possible. Now I go to church in OTR (although I live in the suburbs).

The transformation of OTR is here to stay, but it’s not complete. There are areas that have been developed, and other areas that are still Class D. In general, south of Liberty Street is developed, and north of Liberty is not. If prices are really low, it’s probably in an area that hasn’t seen development yet.

Hello!

I'm looking to get started in REI, in my hometown of Cincinnati (this is my first post here!). After doing a lot of research, I plan on investing in a few SFHs (and possibly a duplex or two). Due to health and time issues, I will require a Property Management company to manage the tenants and property.

Right now I am still in the analyzing phase, trying to understand the local market, and what is available. My question is: at what point should I try to find a property manager? I'm afraid I'll buy a place, only to find that it's outside the boundaries or interest of a good PM, but at the same time, I not sure if I should contact a PM before I even have a property to manage.

Any suggestions? (And recommendations for property managers in the area would be welcome as well!)
