Thanks. That's what I thought.

However, I wasn't sure if that $150,000 threshold was for mAGI from W-2 or if that also held true for 1099 income.

What if I was to incorporate a business that held both my healthcare 1099 and my rental properties?

I thank you for your responses, as they help me and I assume other readers.

Thank you for the reply!

Does your answer still hold true regardless of my 1099 income from my primary job?

I have read about some of these deductions from rental properties phasing out if total income exceeds some threshold.

Are you able to comment on this?

Thanks,

Eric

Hi BP -

My primary job is 1099 income from working as an independent contractor (healthcare).

I have been reading about carrying over tax deductions that exceed income on a rental to other rentals or to the next year.

Can this be carried over to 1099 income that is not related to rental properties?

Thanks for any answers or direction to a book or online source that would answer my question.

Eric
