As Whitney said it really doesn't matter what company you take the courses from. I suggested Pro Schools (online ed) simply because they are the original company that offered classes and the biggest and the website is super easy to use.  If you want to discuss Premiere Property Group or other real estate companies feel free to give me  a call. I can't post my number in the forum.

Proschools is pretty much the standard for getting your license.   I'm at Premiere Property Group and they have excellent training and mentorship.  Happy to discuss the company if you want to  get in touch with me directly. I've been selling real estate since 2000. There are plenty of good companies out there, just depends what you are looking for.

I know this is a pretty old thread, piping in anyway as I've used several of these platforms.

Vulcan7-  Generally speaking has the best phone numbers and is very easy to use. Dialer is pretty slow.

MojoSells- terrible numbers, but amazing 3 line dialer.  Many agents sync vulcan/redx/landvoice to Mojo to make calls.

RedX- For a while I had an assistant calling leads on Redx storm dialer while I was calling on Vulcan. We found Vulcan had better numbers and I was contacting more true owners.  However, Redx allows you to pull old listings with an manual import (up to 2000 a month) which is really useful. Specifically for this forum, you could pull old expired fixer listings, or any parameters you want and add them to Redx. I believe you could send Vulcan a list of old addresses, but they will charge you  50 cents per lookup.  Redx has a new upgrade called Onxy which is supposed to have better phone numbers. I'm testing it out and still think overall the V7 numbers are better, although Redx did give me several numbers that were correct that Vulcan didn't have.  Redx is also about to release a 3 line dialer.

Land voice- A while back someone told me that Land Voice basically had the same data as Vulcan 7. I checked it out the upgraded land voice data for a week or so and it was similar. The problem the system was really unusable and you would have to sync to a dialer.  Haven't looked into it since.

Ultimately, each has pros and cons. I think any of them can be used successfully if you work at it daily.

One thing to keep in mind is how much equity you have in the property. Most earthquake polices have extremely high deductibles, so if it's a new acquisition you don't have much equity in, it may not pay to insure for earthquakes.

I've been a real estate broker since 2000 and for a good portion of that time have been doing some real estate investing on the side. There are benefits and downsides to having your license when you are also an investor. 

One of the downsides is your liability goes up quite a bit as an investor when you have your real estate license. You are bound to much higher disclosure and ethics standards.  Even the most honest broker/investors make mistakes, and when you have your license it's far easier for people to come after you with complaints or lawsuits. 

Another downside is being a successful real estate broker takes a lot of time and energy. As a broker you are running a business- and to be skillful and successful as an agent is more than a full time job.  If your goal is to be a full time investor right off the bat, becoming an agent may be more time consuming than you are interested in. 

On the plus side, you will certainly gain skills and market knowledge much faster as an agent, as you are in the market everyday.  You can also build an investor based business- network and surround yourself with other investors and work with them.  

A good realtor that is investor focused will have their ear to the ground and often good deals will come your way just because you are in the business. Also, as you generate leads on investment properties, some of them can turn into listings for you, or the sellers of those properties can turn into buyers.

Ultimately, it really depends on what your end goal is...If you really just want to be an investor and have the time and money, my advise is for you to connect yourself with a good Realtor and network with other local investors. If you just want to be in real estate and also invest, becoming an agent may be a good path too...Feel free to get in touch with me directly- happy to discuss with you more or via phone call.
