Post: What to do if you know multiple Real Estate Agents?

Hey fellow Real Estater’s!

So I have a question for all of you.

My wife and I recently purchased our first rental (currently house hacking a duplex while I renovate one side at a time, renting out the other)

My question regards multiple Real Estate Agents. Being in our early 30’s, between my wife and I we can probably personally name 20 Real Estate agents in our local area. Many of which are excited and want our business moving forward with our rental purchases, especially since I am a local carpenter.

What is the appropriate conversation/dialogue with some of these other Real Estate Agents that we have pretty good personal relationships with?

Currently we have committed to using an Agent to gain access to the MLS, but haven't signed a Buyers Agreement with yet. We do plan on using them for our next purchase in the near future.

Would it be out of line to keep these other avenues of communication open with all the other Agents in our sphere of influence? Maybe stating that if they bring us our next deal we will use them for closing?

I am just trying to figure out a way to continue building our local team, and still showing the value to each of the other Agents we “currently” aren’t using.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Thanks @Tyler Wagner! I plan on being at the REI group meeting for sure (Although I can't promise not to be covered in construction debris from the work day!) See you there!

@Jennifer OBrien I have been down to the Moscow/Pullman area a few times, and did not even think to consider that both are University towns in reference rentals! Thanks for the encouragement and if our Real Estate adventure takes us a tad south I will be sure to let you know!

@Braden Coleman congrats on your first flip! I have heard about the BP calculators and will definitely look into those!

Hello Bigger Pockets Community!

Eric here, a brand new ‘greenhorn’ to Real Estate investing who stumbled on to Bigger Pockets after my wife and I talked about owning our own duplex! I have been listening to the Bigger Pockets Podcast non-stop for a week while at work (I am a finish carpenter here in Spokane) and am extremely excited to jump in head first and meet people in my area!

My wife and I plan on doing our first multI-famIly house hack here in the Spokane WA / Coeur d‘Alene ID area ASAP to start to build our asset portfolio!

Just finished reading Rich Dad Poor Dad (which, of course, blew my mind) and just received Brandon and Josh’s Ultimate Beginners Guide to Real Estate book that I am excited to absorb!

Looking forward to my familys final future and excited to be involved in a community of like minded people!

Cheers! - Eric Morman
