Hi! I'm Eric from southeast Michigan! I grew up in Holly and I currently live in White Lake. I've never actually lived in Detroit proper, but close enough!

I know absolutely nothing about real estate and I've never owned a home. This whole real estate investing idea stumbled into my life when I was searching for investment books on Audible. I've listened to "The Book On Rental Property Investing", which led me to this forum. I've listened to many books on Audible, like The Total Money Makeover, Rich Dad Poor Dad, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck, How To Win Friends And Influence People, and others.

I joined the Marines right out of high school and served for 8 years. Then in 2012 I got out and skid on my face for a while while I tried to figure out how to be a responsible civilian. Now I'm an over the road truck driver. I'm married to a wonderful woman from the Philippines. I'm 31 and she is 32.

The goal of my wife and I is to be able to freely travel between our countries and have 2 homes. We'd prefer to not have to wait until we're "old and retired" to do this. I've been constantly in search of ways to make this happen. As of right now, saving money to buy property is the solution I've got... which led to me looking up audiobooks on real estate investing. I REALLY enjoyed the Rental Property Investing book put together by the guys here at this site. I've been working on a personal fund to buy my own semi truck this summer. But now I'm intrigued by the idea of buying a multi-family home.

My financial decisions while in the Marines were horrible. So I've got some crappy credit. But now I've got a lot of time while I drive my truck to listen to audiobooks and learn.

I look forward to meeting some people on here!
