Post: Is Real Estate’s barrier to entry still high in 2019-2020?

I want to start investing, and as I continue to educate and become more involved in real estate, I feel as though everyone is starting to invest in real estate now.

I know this may sound absurd, but as a newbie, I’m feeling discourage and think that there aren’t enough properties to go around for me to get a piece of the pie.

Competition is extremely high in Philadelphia. I can’t even find available mutifamily properties to house hack.

Is there any advice, statistics, or facts that can help me not feel discouraged about investing in real estate? Once again, it seems like everyone is doing it now. Also, are there strategies to dominate the competition despite the market a person is in? Any mindset advice?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @Steve Uhlig , thank you very much! I really appreciate your time and support in responding to my post.

I would definitely like their contact. The more I talk to, the better! I’m ready to hustle and get things done.

Thanks again! I look forward to your response.

Cheers,
Eric

@Jimmy O'Connor

Wow! I had no idea about any of that. It does sound very complicated, but I'm going to keep pushing through. I know I will find the right property. I aim to use an FHA loan. I'm not sure if I can House Hack by purchasing two singles instead of a duplex. That's a great strategy though

I appreciate you reaching out. I am eager to learn more so I can get the ball rolling in my investment career. I look forward to speaking with you.

Thank you for your time!

Best regards,

Eric

@Yuriy Skripnichenko

I am looking for deals through Realtor and Zillow. I don't have an Real Estate license so I can't get on the MLS. I don't want to contact an agent just yet because I want to get my hands dirty. I want to hustle and grind by looking on these websites to gain more insight and experience.

I know I will end up needing a real estate agent soon anyway.

Thank you for your time and response Yuriy! I appreciate it.

Hey everyone!

I've been trying to analyze deals, and start my REI career through house hacking. I live in Philadelphia, and I can't seem to find ANY Multifamily properties.
Any advice on how I should proceed besides contacting a real estate agent? I'm sure they will be able to find deals for me, but was wondering if there is additional guidance someone can provide?
I would greatly appreciate it!

I want to start or join a MasterMind group to connect and network with like minded individuals. Also, is there an app that I can use to help me make new friends who are interested in REI or entrepreneurship?

@Farrukh Madaminov

Thank you! This was helpful. Is there a place to look for partners? Obviously, I can look on this forum. Perhaps there's a legit website that only focuses on Partnerships for REI.
