Hi, Keenan. I'm always eager to connect with new people, and we currently manage many properties in the KC area. I'm new to BP as well, after years in the SFR/RE space. Let's connect!

When challenges arise, it can be hard to remember how many AMAZING moments there are in Real Estate. It's so much more than the deals we close. When I entered the SFR space. I expected to remember & be proud of all the amazing deals I/we were about to do. The moments that actually stand out to me mean a whole lot more:

I remember:
1. The widowed mother of 2 who needed a way out of her condo and into a new construction home for her and her children for a new start. We bought her condo so that they could get that fresh start they deserved.
2. How we helped a resident, who lost their spouse, buy the home they were leasing to make sure his children felt stability and at home!
3. The investor we helped buy and manage a nationwide portfolio to help build wealth, just as his grandfather did so many years ago.
4. The MILLIONS of dollars in assistance we acquired for residents to stay current during covid, protecting both them and our trusted owners from financial hardship.
5. The asset manager who trusted us to get their BFR communities back on track and performing through hard work and determination.
6. The other careers (not jobs) I/we helped create by giving people opportunities to find their true calling.
7. My team waiting at the water department for 5 hours to make sure we could get a resident into a home in short order.
8. The time we connected a troubled investor who was in over her head with another client allowing both to WIN.
9. The family we guaranteed rent to on their existing home, giving them the flexibility to buy with a partner builder and move out of state to be closer to the best treatment facilities when faced with a difficult diagnosis.
10. The family that we bought one home and rented another to, allowing them to purchase their dream home in a new state to be close to their daughter.

And of course, SO MANY more amazing moments! Don't get me wrong, I still love the deals... but I truly remember the people we help. Institutional and regular folks alike!

Hi, Eric. I'm new to BiggerPockets as well, but I have been working in the investment industry for over two decades.

When I entered the SFR space, I quickly realized that I didn't know enough. The good news was that neither did anyone else. My biggest piece of advice is to learn from the experiences of others. Especially with the wealth of knowledge available on this forum, take what's been done and use that to do it better. Being curious and accepting that you don't know everything is one of the most important and freeing aspects of investing.

I wish you the best!
