Hi All,

My husband and I own a few investment properties in and around Fitchburg, MA. A couple of the buildings had property managers from the previous owners that we kept on when we acquired the buildings. We are thinking about reaching out to see what other options there are in the market, but a lot of the companies we see by doing a Google search, etc. don’t have any sort of reviews. I was preparing to pick up the phone and start calling around, but figured it might be a good idea to see if any of you guys have recommendations in the area first.

Hi Mike,

It's a working class lower-income type area, so I've found that some of the tenants can be a bit of a challenge. Good tenant screening can help mitigate this. The area has a lot of renters so we haven't had a hard time keeping our properties occupied.

@Josh Robbins Thanks Josh! We've found Fitchburg to be a great little market for buy and hold. Lots of relatively cheap three and four-units with great cash flows. I've always found the University intriguing, but we've never bought anything over there as the properties closer to the University tend to be more expensive. Might be a good niche to get into if you if you can find a good deal! Best of luck in your endeavors, feel free to pm me if you want to pick my brain about anything in particular in that market.

I’ve been reading articles and forum posts on bigger pockets for quite a while now, but this is my first time making an account and posting. My husband and I are buy and hold investors and have a small portfolio in and around Fitchburg, MA. My main goal in joining the site (on top of continuing to learn from the community) is to take advantage of networking opportunities, and see what recommendations the community might have for vendors, property managers, etc. in the area.
