Thank you Dan K. You had some of the same thoughts I had regarding where people want to live vs where they need to live. I was initially hesitant about choosing homes that required fixing up because I don't have much knowledge on rehabbing but I resigned to the fact that most of the properties that I've looked at will require some renovation. I will definitely do more research on rehabbing and network with others who have done the same.

Are you looking to stay in the area you’re living in? There’s good opportunités and larger yields about 30-45 minutes from Boston as opposed to larger ticket properties and high appreciation of Boston property. I was able to do it in the metro west and still achieved 10% appreciation with ability to refi into lower rate the following year. Let me know if you’d like some local feedback and best of luck!

I am open to Boston or any surrounding areas. I would love some local feedback!

Hello Everyone,

I am currently a tenant in South Boston in a 2-unit multifamily home, I’ve been in the Boston area for almost 4 years now. I am looking to get into real estate investing and have decided that house hacking would be the best way for me to start my real estate investing journey. I have been reading, researching, watching Youtube videos and want to start taking some steps. I would love to connect with others in the area who have house hacked or are looking to house hack in the Northeast area.

I am also open to any and all advice about getting started on this journey!
