Hi @Shawn Mcenteer! Great to hear from you again! Thanks so much for your input here, very valuable info.

Yep, my partner and I are actually open to relocating for a year if need be. My 9-5 is remote, so I’m privileged in this case to explore a bit.

We are constantly traveling upstate NY for our mental breaks away from the city and honestly, we fall in love the more we visit. Upstate NY is definitely in our radar.

Hello everyone, hope all is well! Completely a newbie in this world and I have been looking in different areas in Northern NJ and parts of NY to house hack as my first my property.

I am looking to utilize an FHA loan and have landed interest in Binghamton area. Current rental lease which I share with my partner is set to expire at the end of this year and I would love to hear about experiences/challenges in this area.

Honestly born and raised in NJ, I was starting to have the same outlook as well but since I do have family and work here, I believe NJ would be the best place to start off. I certainly don’t expect to be cash flow positive for a bit but I’ll have peace of mind that the place I rest my head is somewhere we can feel is ours.

Amazing to see how well you have thrived all while bringing your family for the ride in life.

Hello @Shawn Mcenteer! Thanks so much for the welcome. That is honestly amazing that your wife and yourself have been house hacking in NJ considering the inventory, but you certainly know more than I do.

I would love to learn more about the meet up details. Thanks for your time and reply

Hi everyone! Hope all is well, my name is Edwin and currently reside in Northern NJ. Began exploring ways I can get my foot into REI a few months ago and the eagerness to invest has grown over time. Currently renting an apartment with my partner.

Looking to purchase my first duplex by the end of 2022. In the meantime, I work at a insurtech (I’ll understand if you say “huh?”) startup company in NYC

Our lease is up at the end of Jan 2023 but looking to have a duplex closed by November 2022. My question is when should I start the process of looking for inventory as it may be limited and connect with an agent? I don’t want to waste anyone’s time during this process.

Taking a leap this new year and I’ll continue to learn and expand on my knowledge and apply it as I go. I look forward to connecting with you all.
