Currently 20 years old heading into my Junior year of college as a Finance Major. Id like to get involved in the world of Real Estate Investing by finding an internship/Part time job or as others call it "the school of hard knocks" to gain a plethora of knowledge on the different parts of REI. I want to buy my first property before next school year and house hack with some friends, but would like some real life experience before attempting it on my own especially being in such an expensive market.

Im in the San Diego area.

My question is: What type of internship would be beneficial towards real estate investment?

Any replies appreciated!

Currently, I have the opportunity to go to a big 4-year University due to the grades I received in high school. However, I know how much college costs and wonder if education is really worth it. In addition to this, I have a good amount of money being passed down to me from my grandfather when I turn 25. Do I a) begin my real estate career after I go to college and use that money to pay for my college education or b) find a great real estate mentor and learn from him as I go using that lump sum to begin my real estate entrepreneur career. Please reply, I am currently 18 and a Senior in high school.
