@Mike Baxter thanks for the reply Mike. I agree, this can be a risky move if not done correctly. I am actually searching on behalf of a client who only needs the loan for about 3-4 weeks.

Are there any banks doing cross collateral bridge loans? Looking for one in the Virginia area.

Also, wondering what the max CLTV is.

Thanks for the info. Curious to know if you’ve seen them use the appraised value rather than the purchase price to determine the worth when the loan is being applied for less than 12 months from purchase date?

Hello Everyone,

I bought a property recently and my appraisal came back higher than my purchase price.

I have spoken to a couple lenders and they are all sayiNg that they can only use the purchase price, not the appraised value, to determine how much equity I have. 

Is this a rule across the board?  Or are there lenders who can use the appraised value. Thanks!!

Hello everyone.  This is my first post and was very intrigued with this conversation.  I wanted to ask everyone what their thoughts were on this question now that Amazon has announced their move here. It seems like inventory and the overall market has changed so much in the past 6-10 months. Any advice for a newbie investor in the area now?  Are the areas still the same?  Thanks in advance
