Ahh!  I see now @Sean OToole that you're affiliated with the site he mentioned.  So, I decided not to right now because there was no specific information about pre-auction tax delinquent properties.  That has to be ferreted out from the county.  I'm working on that first.  I get the sense that I may have enough cross-ref options outside of a site like yours, but I'll keep it in mind if it starts to look attractive for its convenience factor.  Too bad I already spent my free 3 day trial; maybe you have the power to reset that? :-)

Thanks!

Thanks @Gary Holt !  I checked out that site, not for me right now.  Maybe later!

Thank you @Sean OToole !  Still waiting to hear back from the county, but I'll dive into the txt file and see if they're any revealing differences (none right off the bat, but onward/upward!).

Hello @Ned Carey !  If you look at the image in the first post, you'll notice values under the those "date-through-date" labels that, at first glance, appear self explanatory.  The values underneath however do not clarify, i.e. 83484 underneath THRU, etc. Please let me know if you figure out otherwise.

And on the topic of usefulness, there does seem to be a large bit of info that is records and/or admin specific, aka useless to us.  I am hoping that at least this file has the most pertinent info hiding somewhere in there.  Regardless, I am expecting/planning to cross reference as much as I need to.

Cheers!

P.s. those are 6 different columns in my previous post ("ARMS FR" is its own).

Thank you both, @Davido Davido and @Sabrina Kane !

I used to live in Olympia!  If I could import some of that PNW rain onto these properties down here, it'd probably increase their value nicely! :)

I don't mind the narrow columns for now, and the file was "~" delimited, which I got to learn about too.  So I did everything right per the county instructions that came with the file (for use in Excel)...

It's actually that weird header information I'm after.  It may just be specific to this county, but I'm hoping someone sees some familiarity in it and can point me in the right direction.  It's mostly the blank titles on columns that have me stumped, but also labels such as (and again, these are the headers for the rest of the file):

ARMS FR 20151228 THRU 20160127

185428.74 47837189.08

Thank you @Sabrina Kane !!! I'll go ahead and try that, but the file actually came with instructions to upload specifically into Excel.

I should have mentioned it's a .txt file.

Cheers :)

Howdy all!  First post here, which I tried to avoid by searching through the forums, but failed to find another post that answered my inquiry (though I will continue searching!).

I've uploaded a County file of tax delinquent properties, and the header information is either cryptic or missing.  I've contacted the county and am waiting to hear back, but I get the feeling they don't help beyond a certain point, i.e. "you figure it out".

The file has the apn #s and name/address, etc., but there are many columns with years, and other random numbers that I want to understand.  Specifically, as you would imagine, I want to know the year(s) that a property had been or is delinquent, whether or not they've been redeemed in the past, by what amount, and the like.  The values in some cells hint at dollar amounts, but they're just floating there.

Any insight to a good decryption source or what some of these mean would be greatly appreciated!  County of San Diego at the moment.

Cheers!
