So last year I started giving real estate wholesaling a go but because of personal issues I ran out of money and had to attend to other things. Ive got my situation back together and im ready to give it another go but ive heard people saying that its tough to make a profit because marketing is so expensive in most cities. Is anyone out there in a mid size to large market making profit soley from real estate wholesaling?

I would like to know did anyone get there first wholesale deal driving for dollars or does anyone regularly get them using this method?

Thanks for the response.I guess me saying drive the whole city was kinda general and vague lol.From my understanding your supposed to target the C neighborhoods.I think i have driven just about all of them even though its a few i may have missed but i know this area pretty well.

Im a real estate wholesale newbie.I heard a great way to get started is driving for dollars so i been doing this for the last month or so and i think ive driven almost the whole city even though i may have missed a few spots.I looked up the owners and sent them mail.I think ive gotten maybe two calls so far and some letters returned because it was a wrong address or something.My question how effective is driving for dollars and has anyone gotten their first deal this way? Im gonna keep trying it for maybe another month and if no luck im gonna try direct mail next.
