@Greg Potter What do you mean when you say 30K and 50K a door? can you explain that..i think i know but like i said I'm just learning and getting into this. I still need to learn what some things mean. Also, i just googled it and i see that theres one tomorrow. You think they are worth going to and that i will learn a bunch from them? Thanks Greg!

@Bryan L. Thanks for the input. It makes me take a step back and see it from a different perspective.

@Bill S. thanks for all the advice. I need a local guy like your self for mentoring!

Now when people are saying get my fiancial stuff in order as well as build credit what do you think about student loans. I have built credit so far and actually got my score and was told it was not bad credit just not the "gold" standard just because I'm young and have not yet really done anything. Since then I've done nothing but things to raise it which I'm sure i am. That being said I have some student loans. Not a lot but enough where they annoy me bc i feel like it would be added risk by jumping into real estate before they are paid. thats why I'm living at home paying them off as quick as i can. What do you guys think, is it way smarter to hold and pay off them prior or maybe deal with the loan payment, right the interest off on my taxes, and start saving instead to finance my next RE endevore?? How do lenders look at someone with student loans who's trying to get approved for financing? Thanks for the advise guys..helps a ton, and reading/learning a ton.

Thanks guys for all the advice. I'm going to learn as much as i can. i have been reading up a ton on all this stuff. trying to learn before i pull the trigger. I read a bunch of stuff about people being naive and not doing it smart so I'm trying not to be in the static group! and @Christopher Schmidt agh IT. The medical field would collapse without you guys! lol i am a Radiation Therapist (cancer treatment).

@Robert Leonard Thanks for the advice! Thats my goal to learn as much as i can and read up on all of this. I will def check out everything you were talking about. Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I am a 23 yr old young professional working in Healthcare. I want to try and get into being a landlord but buy properties up as i go. I want it to be something that i can someday retire from healthcare, help pay for my children's college, and allow for me to have something i call work but still allow me to have a non stressful retirement $$ wise. Now i know this is a goal that will not be accomplished over night but its something that i want to get the ball rolling..the younger i start the better ill end off right? I need peoples advice where to start, what to look for, and any tips to the business. I have been thinking about buying a duplex and living in it in one half with a buddy and then renting out the other till i gain some bankroll to start buying others. any thoughts? I have talked to some people but then i stumbled upon this website and think its great and people seem like they know what they are talking about. Be honest with me, tell me what i need to do and what road I'm in for with this type of business. Thanks everyone!
