I have a question from the tenant's perspective. A friend of mine had a house fire last week in the house that she has rented for the last 11 years. It is uninhabitable, and all of her personal property has been removed. What else is she responsible for, or what should she expect from her landlord. The investigation is incomplete, but it is suspected to have been a short around the breaker box - no fault of the tenant that started the fire.

@John LaVecchia, my preferred area is 28115 in Mooresville, but I'm marketing from Concord all the way around to Gastonia, outside of Mecklenburg County.   I work in Gastonia, so I travel down 150 and 321 5 days/week.

I'm trying to get estimates for a SFR that I am looking at buying to flip. When I contact contractors for an estimate, they are asking if I'm the homeowner. When I say no, they say "sorry, only the homeowner can request us to come out". How do you get estimates before you own the property?
