I set up a facebook page as suggested. Stop by and "like" it if you would. Thanks!

I have heard there is a shortage of rentals this year. With my brother is town, a prop mgr my mom uses & his employees too, i have decent contacts there. Plus i just like the town :)

So where are you now Pat?

However I know the area is great for rentals, I mean I rented for ten years while I was up there. Generally I am looking for anything that I can get conventional financing on first, 3 bed 1-2bath (I like 1.5 so I have the option to convert the .5 to a full), and needs some work. I aim to BRRR my properties, so if you have something that falls in that category I would be interested in talking to you about it, or even if it doesn't fit that model and you just need someone to look at the numbers as a second opinion let me know.

Very cool. I teach graphic design at Chico State. I'm off for the summer so I'm working to ramp up the real estate before I go back.

I had to lookup what a BRRR is but that sounds like a good strategy. I'll definitely show you what I have. 2 of the 3 homes I'm negotiating on are 3/2s. The other is a 2/1 and I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's in the "Barbertown" neighborhood which is south of 9th and west of Park near the matchstick factory. I'm told by my real estate agents that it is a favorite for rehab investors. So the property may be good for students or young couples. What do you think?

You can always email any financing questions about investment houses.

 Hey Gordon,

When and where does your club meet? I'll be there. Setting up a meetup and a Facebook page is a great idea. Done! :) I appreciate the offer to help with financing questions.

Awesome Chris. I've got about 3 properties in various stages of negotiation so I'm hoping one of them will drop soon. Do you attend a club in Sac? I missed the last Sac REIA meeting but I'm planning to come. There doesn't seem to be a club here in Chico yet. I'd love to meet up with you to chat one of these days. I get down to Sac quite often.

Cheers,

Dave

I'm from Chico but also am a newbie.  I would love to connect and talk though. Have some thoughts on creating more networking in Chico.

My son (he is 16 and has a tremendous desire to succeed in RE) and I have been traveling down to Roseville and Sacramento for network meetings which are great but would love to start something up here.

Chico is so small, we probably have some sort of connection already.  It seems when I meet new people they usually know someone I know, or there is some sort of connection.  That's one thing I like about Chico.  You def must be on good behavior here, because word gets out quick!  Anyway, welcome to BP.  You will LOVE this site!!!

Terri

Hi Terri,

We should definitely meet up. I've been connecting with a few investors in town and have brought up the topic of creating a club. I'll send you a private message and maybe we can meet for lunch.

I've been in REI since the crash with SFR's, I am now a Hard Money lender for CA, AZ, NV, and TX and also flipping some properties with a couple partners here in San Diego. We have done some Bay Area properties, so keep my contact in case you need some help/ advice or even a partner.

Will do Chase. I've got a potential deal I'm look into today, so we'll see what happens. Thanks!

Anyway, what's your plan and how long have you been investing?

Hello Everyone,

Noob here from NorCal. If you live in or near Chico, California, I'd love to visit with you for lunch. I'll buy. I'm looking to build a network of friends both online and locally so we can share and grow our businesses.

I'm 46, married with 3 young-ish children and work as a teacher. Real estate investing is my next adventure and I'm working to build a retirement for me and my wife.

My game plan is to wholesale SFHs and Apartments to build cash and then invest in apartments in emerging markets wherever it makes sense in the US. If you have insight into these areas, especially successfully working deals in Norther California, I'm all ears.

I look forward to getting to know many of you.

Dave
