Just wanted to post an update. This metal piece is called a 'stucco stop' and doesn't need to be replaced. Just ospho and painted.

I have some of the metal house trim rusting out and am unsure on how to replace this. I've looked around at the big box stores for replacement sections of this trim but cant find anything like it. I'm looking for advice on whether to attempt replacement of this DIY or whether to price a contractor to replace. I plan on painting this property in the next month.

It looks like the trim is still firmly attached so I could possibly use ospho or a rust inhibitor to stop the rust and then caulk and paint any open areas.

Thank you @Dmitriy Fomichenko for the information on tagging and the recommendations very helpful! And thank you @Susan Goldthorpfor the CFRI link, this looks promising for a place to network and share idea's.

Hello BP community, my name is David Alexander and yes I'm new to REI. I found out about this site from investfourmore.com, I have no background in real estate other than purchasing my first home from a HUD foreclosure. Got a great deal, this was back in 2001, and since, that house is now a rental and providing a positive cash flow with great long term tenants. I also own a call center business and am involved with creating the technology to make the business work. My reason for joining the site is to network and gain as much knowledge as possible before I decide to make my next rei play.
