I’m reading @brandonturner book rental property investing and just curious... if you do a live in house hack and your making repairs while living their do are those repairs a tax write off since your planning on using the property for a rental or is it not since your living there at the time?

I just listened to podcast 331 with Ashley Hamilton and she said she gives her tenants gift cards at the end of the year would that be a tax write off since your giving??
