Hi All,

I recently purchased a home with a Mother-in-law apartment in the basement. I plan to house hack the property and live in the Mother-in-law portion. The home is zoned as a single family property. My questions are, how do I go about setting up the mail for both? Is it possible to have two separate mailboxes/addresses? 

Also, I am wondering about the utilities, they are not on separate. How would you suggest I charge the tenants? Any and all feed back is greatly appreciated!

We made a lot of mistakes on the deal along the way, and yes sorry I did say Brrrr but didn’t technically do the last steps of refinancing, which was one of the mistakes. Sorry I’m new to this strategy, and still learning sorry for the mis led info:(

Investment Info:

Single-family residence fix & flip investment in Ogden.

Purchase price: $47,500
Cash invested: $60,000
Sale price: $135,000

Town home that had been sitting for 5 years vacant and tore down to studs after a major flood, purchased with 2 partners. complete rehab from the studs out, new cabinets, subfloors, floors, drywall, base boards, etc. After rehab leased the property out for 1 year then sold.

Hi all,

My name is Derrick and I'm somewhat new to this. I Have done one BRRRR with two partners in the past. Although we did turn a profit, I feel I still have a lot to learn! I've been studying up, and listening to the podcasts and have come to realize all the mistakes we made on that deal. That being said I'm looking forward to connecting with some of you and being part of the Bigger Pockets community. I Have recently moved to Washington and will be closing on my first house hacking deal soon. If you're from the area and have any good advice on meet ups, and networking I would truly appreciate the feed back. Thanks!
