Quick note

I'm sure posts like this one have been made before, but I'm a novice in this industry. I hope to learn as much as I can in order to be able to make progress.

Before anyone lets me know these questions can be answered by a simple search, I just wanted to say I have searched and I've found some good results but I want some information geared toward my specific situation.

So as a quick introduction; I'm 18 years old, I just quit my job like a week ago, I have roughly 1.1k saved up. I quit my job because a friend of mine introduced me to wholesale real estate. I heard the figures that could be made and was blown away but also pretty skeptical. I do have a supplemental income of $100 a week and do not need to pay rent at the moment. I've been doing some research but want to truly dive into wholesale flipping, specifically probate houses. I live in NYC and do not have access to a car at the moment but I'm willing to take road trips to visit different properties via bus/train, I also don't have money to invest into reparations or anything like that. Anyways here are my questions and thank you for taking the time to read this/reply.

What are some books you can recommend on whole sale real estate investing?

How does someone like me go about getting into flipping and closing their first deal?

What are roadblocks that you faced, how did you get over them? 

How long did it take for you to close your first deal?

Is it possible for me to start seeing returns within my first month of flipping? 

How can I get started, I want to take the first step and I don't want to rely on the friends that introduced me into this even though I am planning on working with them because a team is stronger than a single person and more money can be made. Also they're both great people and I don't want to seem like a leech off their work once we all start doing this.
