Hi CT M and Marco Santarelli, Thank you very much for your replies and advice. I will set up a meeting with my CPA and attorney for next week to discuss my situation. Marco, I will check out your website, but in general I am looking in Marion County/Indianpolis (more North Side like Wayne, Pike and Washington Twnshp) and Hamiltion County (Carmel and Westfield).

Brandon Turner, thanks for your welcome and advice as well!

Hello All!

I have been lurking here for some time and thought it was about time for me to check in and participate - since this is obviously what makes BP such a fantastic resource!

I have been researching and reading as much as possible the last few months and am ready to get going with my first investment. My intent is to buy and hold a cashflowing rental to begin my journey. Since I have a full time business to provide for our family, this seems to be an avenue toward "diversification" while at the same time building long term wealth.

A question that I do have is - in beginning as a real estate investor, is it recommended to form an LLC from the start OR to just invest as an individual? From what I understand, qualifying for financing may be a major roadblock as a new LLC?

Thanks in advance and for such an excellent site!
