Welcome Logan! I'm also new, first week here. Really good vibes here already.

@George Blower Thank you for the warm welcome!

@Troy Sheets

Thank you for the welcome! Much appreciated.

As the wife said below, completely agree. We plan to do our first deal in the next year and a half. Until then, it's save- save- save.

Absolutely agree! We actually lived in Cobbs Creek right at 50th and Spruce for a year. The block we were on was listed at about 345k. Massive homes though! About 3000sf. Needed a lot of work though, house would not hold heat. In addition to that, there was a little too much crime still.

Crazy thing is, if you went south 3 blocks, some of those homes were selling for 500k and up! West Philly is booming. I have a friend who just bought on 47th and locust for 750k. Being from philly, I can't believe how it's changed the past 20 years.

As far as a philly buy, we feel it is best to save as much as we can to hit hard in Phoenix. I don't have much of an interest in the east coast or philly now, it's just best to disconnect and move forward.

@Jeremy Fisher Hey!

Yes, we were actually looking into buying something here, but after running the numbers it just does not add up, in addition to that- we WANT to move away from the east coast ASAP haha.

We actually did live in West Philly for a year, but again, things are getting priced out fast. Most homes are selling for 400k-900k- no joke.

The good news is I am a vet so we get an option for a VA home loan, in addition to what we are saving. @Tamara Rodenbeck you have anything to add?

I appreciate the thought though!!

 Hey Tuan,

Welcome, I just posted my intro yesterday- so new here too! Just sending warm welcome vibes your way.

You seem to have similar goals to my wife and I, happy to chat anytime!

@Donald Kellogg Everyone I am talking to who live(s) there seems to feel the same way. We were just out there about 2 and a half weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I was stoked that I could also drive to LA and it was only about 5 hours. Snowboarding and beaches also sound nice haha.

@Jimmy Smith Great!! Thanks Jimmy!

Hey @Donald Kellogg

Thanks for reaching out! I will absolutely take you up on that, thank you! What's your favorite thing about the area? Thank you again!

@Jimmy Smith

Awesome! What school are you attending? And that's great about the meet up!! What are you looking to get into? I'm loving the vibe already.

Hey everyone!

My name is Derek Rodenbeck, nice to meet you.

So, I usually have dog hair on my clothes, but I can't refuse a hug from a k-9. I'm an Army veteran that will always say yes to a hike, and as I'm sure anyone reading can relate, I have a MASSIVE interest in Real Estate investing.

Some of you all might have already met my wife Tamara on here. We have a 9 month old daughter, and she causes enough loving chaos in our lives to keep it all interesting. I'm new to the game, but my wife and I tend to think about-- and or talk about real estate a lot. Just excited about it all, the process of it, the people, learning, really everything.

Currently I am finishing up my BA at UPenn and I work at Wharton in Marketing along with doing wedding photography on the side. My wife and I are working towards moving to Phoenix in the next year and a half.

My wife and I dream big, but that's the only way to dream as far as I'm concerned. Our goals are to grow together as a team through this new venture. Meet people within the community and become involved. Offer support to whoever might be in need- hopefully the more we learn the more we can offer over time. And of course- house hack, invest, and so on.

So, I think that's about it, I'm excited to get to know you all and thankful that this exists so we have the opportunity to change our lives.
