I haven't invested in a property yet, but (IMHO) you're not a damn fool. Life is short, and if you don't like what you're doing, it can be mighty hard as well. I Don't have any specific advice to give as far as investing. I used to live in Big Pine Key and have aspirations to buy rental property in south Florida at some point. I have a feeling you can get some great input from people on this website who are currently invested in your neck of the woods. Good luck!

West Plains IS a great town. I love this area and have spent most of my life here. However, I'm also a confirmed beach bum and have always wanted a little bungalow on the beach. The "misery" isn't actually me. I had an uncle that used to think it was the pinnacle of humor to refer to Missouri as Misery. Just paying a little homage to him. Believe me, a little of him went a long ways...

My extreme thanks to EVERYONE who welcomed me and provided such great information on getting started. I'm sure I'll be making good use of it shortly. It appears listening to some podcasts might be the first order of business.

As a copywriter in the industry, I've been thinking about income property investing for quite some time, but have yet to actually invest in one. However, I'm sure that day is coming. Though presently located in Missouri, I am a misplaced Floridian and am looking forward to exploring rental properties available there. Especially interested in the Miami, Naples, Space Coast, and Florida Keys. I would love to hear real world experiences from folks who have portfolios including properties from those areas.

Hi Pedro,

Newbie here as well. I noticed you hail from Indian Harbour Beach, which is only a hop, skip, and jump from where I used to live in Satellite Beach. I'm in Missouri now but am itching to get back to the Space Coast. How has your experience been in finding positive cash flow rentals in that area? Have you stayed primarily in Indian Harbour Beach or spread out into neighboring communities?
