Thanks Nick. Immediately after asking the question I saw how popular it is on the site and started reading. I think your advice is spot-on with what I've read.

I'm new to RE investing. So far I've got one property but isn't that where everyone starts? I have a general question: Should I be considering obtaining my real estate license? In my state (NJ) and from what I've heard if I obtain my associates license I need to work with an realtor to keep it active or to have access to the MLS.

What's the scoop. Go for the license or wait? Do I have the rules for a RE associate mixed up?

I was looking at vacation condos for investment also. I looked at three different properties, ran the numbers and then couldn't figure out how I could do anything but break-even.

Hi Everyone,

Being new to bigger pockets I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself. I'm also new to the world of Real Estate. I've invested in Real Estate before having owned a three story in Brooklyn, NY and a couple of homes of my own but none of these properties were actually things I've considered for investment - although I'd like to take that Brooklyn property back but that's a long story.

I recently invested in a condo in the Jersey City Heights area. I would've looked at Hoboken or downtown Jersey City but it was out of my price range. So far, I'm excited about the property. It's been one year now and there's been no problem finding renters. I consider myself lucky.

Presently, I'm looking for another property so I'll be chiming in from time to time and looking forward to sharing advice and stories with everyone.

When I purchased my condo in the Heights I was aware that a high-rise was going up near the Path trains. My understanding is that those condos/apartments are going to be on the pricey side so I'm not so sure it will affect the demographic moving into the Heights in Jersey City.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to bigger pockets and real estate investing. I purchased a condo in the Jersey City Heights section in December. I wouldn't mind hearing from others in Jersey City and / or adding anything to the mix that I can.

I've considered investing again in JC because it seems the property is hot over there but then again, I'm not sure if I'm better off closer to home in Central Jersey. Tomorrow I'm going to look at some rental properties in Brick.
