A question for those investing in Bethlehem, PA is whether you are all familiar with the "Business Privilege and Mercantile Tax" landlords need to pay??  I am a new owner to Bethlehem and just got notice of it.

Wondering if you contacted Sean Richway who is also Bigger Pocket member.  I'll be reaching out to him.  That kind of returns being offered appears too good to be true.  There is saying that if it's too good to be true, then maybe it really is!!!

This does not provide insight in reason for drop in assessed value but in my property search, I have found that assessed value is usually more than the market value.  Recently I found a duplex I like and noticed that assessed property value more than listed asking price by about $30k.  I am wondering if this should be a concern. My offer is going to be less than asking price.  Any thoughts !!!

I am really a newbie wanting to restart real estate investing, but this is the same reason I got rid of 3 properties. Remote management was proving too costly with a new repair bill every month for 2 years straight. Probably was not good choice but I got rid of the properties instead of getting rid of the property manager. Now I want to resurrect real investing career but want proceed with more caution.

Thx for welcome.  Pretty cool web site you have.  Pretty sure I'll be reaching out to you once I have alistened to a few more pod cast and see how things run.

Hello BP . My name is Don Blake and I am from New Jersey. After more than 30 years in a cubicle primarily as an engineer in a communication service industry, it's probably now time to plan transition to next phase.

I have been dabbling in real estate for a while but readily acknowledge being a novice, and have been basically "winging" my negotiations. After recent semi-failed negotiations with a colleague of mine recently, he introduced me to BP, and from the outset, I already feel motivated to take the business of REI more seriously.

I am hopeful that BP can reasonably facilitate transition into REI.
