These are nice tips to know since I'm considering purchasing another duplex and living in that duplex while renting out the other unit.

I'm glad this question was asked since I'm planning to take up the role to become a property manager myself as well.

House hacking is the way to go. I graduated with a 6-digit student loan and it actually helped me pay off my loans sooner. Of course, stick with a financial plan and before you know it, you'll start getting addicted to buying more houses and your student loan will be taken cared of!

I'd like to learn more about this as well since I'm considering re-locating to Florida. Would like to see some input to stimulate ideas and discussions here.

This is unfortunate. As a Deaf BP member here, I would like to have access to the podcasts and would definitely benefit more from them.

Marcia's response was well-written. As a Deaf landlord myself, she explained it well. She is an interpreter herself and it makes sense she knows what's she's talking about and I agree that is how to do stellar customer services with Deaf and Hard of Hearing tenants.

As a Deaf landlord myself, I hired a hearing (not Deaf) property manager primarily for effective communication. But I do wonder what if I were to manage them myself or hire a Deaf property manager. Now that I wondered this myself, I wonder how landlords or property managers communicate with their tenants? Do they always use the phone? Or text/email each other? Does anyone here have experience dealing with Deaf/Hard of Hearing tenants? I'd be interested to hear your stories. :-)
