@Paul Murch

Yes! I use them as my registered agent. They are always very professional and if I have questions they always try their best to answer them. Overall I don't hear from them much which is probably a good thing!

Hey Everyone!

I am considering buying a large parcel of land and installing a half acre pond in rural Maine. I have done research on how to use bio filters and regernation zones to keep the pond clean and I have gotten a quote from a local excavating company but I'm sure it's more complicated/expensive than it seems.

Does anyone have any experience building a pond? How much did it cost? What setbacks did you have and how did it turn out in the end?

Thanks in advance!

To all my Maine investors, I would love to set up/attend any and all meetups of investors and real estate professionals! I'm happy to organize if people would like. Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts?

Thanks!

@Dan Weber thanks this is very informative! as a Portland voter and a proud progressive I was conflicted on this. Pricing regular working people out of Portland is a recipe for disaster However ultimately I think this bill is bad for renters as well as landlords. How are we going to encourage investors to increase rental inventory if there is no path for profitability?

@John Underwood if you have a mortgage this can trigger the due on sale clause so you have to be careful about transferring property to an LLC

Hey Codey!

I'm also looking to build a cash flow business based on unleveraged investments (however not by choice 😂). I'm in the process of renting a lakeside lot and putting a tiny home on it for Air BnB but I'm also looking into mobile homes as a good low cost way to get started!

@Sofia Sharkey thanks for your response! I have been reading everything I can get my hands on but there doesn't seem to be a lot specifically about STR. Do you have any books or resources you recommend?

@Steve Morris I would like to do either or both. I apply to multiple property management positions every week but I haven't had any luck so far due to my lack of experience. As to your criteria, it's a bit of a chicken and egg type of deal. No one learns all those skills in a vacuum and I need an opportunity to learn. I will say that I am smart and hard-working so I'm sure I can figure out all of the items you mentioned.

Thanks again!
