I provide cable channels or you tube TV.

How are you handling YoutubeTV? I have it for my own home and I love it but I can't figure out how to offer it to guests.

I use Roku Guest Mode on my TVs which wipes all logins at the end of their stay. I've played around with the idea of giving guests a YouTubeTV login but that seems risky. Not only is it a bit of a pain for the m to log in each time, but because they have the username and password they can technically sign up for paid services like the NFL Ticket or use the Google account in questionable ways.

What's your process with YoutubeTV?

I created a separate login with unique email address for the STR house. I keep these logging in so all they have to do is click on YT app which is at the top of the apps.

John - That's useful to know. Do you have any feedback from guests that suggests it is appreciated and valuable?

I have also thought about YT TV because I also use it in my personal home. However, I couldn't figure out an easy way to do it, so I wasn't going to offer it.

Thanks to everyone! I bought Roku TVs and for now I'm going to go just with streaming. David

This is a relatively minor issue, but could use some advice. I'm setting up my first STR and I need to get TVs and service. Personally, I cut the cord (cable) almost 20 years ago, so the idea of paying for cable seems crazy to me. Is that a mistake? If I go with internet only, any recommendations for the best setup to provide guests to access their favorite content? We use YouTubeTV in our house and I could buy that under a separate account. I could also just provide the TV and setup and let people login using their own information. My research also suggests Roku may be an easy way to handle it. Any thoughts?

Post: STR property websites and payment platforms

I'm purchasing my first STR. I plan to use AirBnB, VRBO and all that. I also want to build a simple website for the property. Does anyone have a favorite platform specifically for property websites? I've used Wix and Squarespace before so would be inclined towards those again. Any experience with that is appreciated. For now, for any bookings, I will drive from the website to an STR platform like AirBnB. At some point, I might also consider a payment platform direct from the website, outside of AirBnB. Does anyone have any experience with that? Thanks.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I really love this community and I will pay it forward the next chance I get. @Malik Javed have you heard anything promising about the bill languishing in the Senate that would reestablish the 100% oin bonus depreciation? IIt passed the House overwhelmingly, but is being held up in the Senate. I assume that AirBnB and others have their lobbyists working on it I hope they do.

I'm under contract on a property. I'm assuming if I want to get bonus depreciation on my tax return in 2025, I will need to have a cost segregation analysis done by Dec 31. Is that right? How do I get one done? I've heard they can be done through software? if it's helpful to know, the place is a condo.

I'm just purchasing my first STR. Should I pay for a hosting platform like Hostfully? If you think I should, please recommend your favorite. I haven't explored the market yet for that product. Thanks.
