Chase, Thank you for the reply. To give a better picture of my situation I am recent college graduate and newly commissioned officer that is going to be attending BOLC at Ft. Benning. I will have most weekends to work on a project and answer emails/calls and manage. One of the properties I am looking at to flip is in the Dingle-wood area of Columbus . I am torn in figuring out which route makes the most financial sense. Being new to the real estate market my main goal is to get my feet wet with this first property and to start something to build upon. I am also looking at renovating a Columbus house and keeping it to rent to future military occupants. With the long term goal of financial independence in mind I am trying to see which option is the smarter first step. Thank you again for the responses, truly is appreciated.

Moving to Columbus GA in a few weeks to start my career as an Army officer. I am between buying a fixer upper in Columbus GA to flip, or buying a property in Scranton to rent and having my brother manage it while I am in GA. Any guidance or thoughts are greatly appreciated as a new investor looking to learn as much as I can so any insights into those two markets would be great as well. Thank you!
