Thanks all for the welcome all. Can answer some of peoples questions. Specifically looking at that area as that's where my in-laws live. First property will probably be for them to live in first. Make the trips down to see them also trips to do maintenance on the property.

Since they are there it probably makes sense to then add additional units in the area too. DC is pretty expensive to get into properties.

Currently lining up my financing and will probably start reaching out to talk to realtors in a few weeks, so thanks @Todd Trader, @Ina Felsher & @Lucas Machado, @Nick Britton .

Hey,  My name is David.  I live in Washington DC, own one 2 unit investment property.  

Short term am looking to buy a rental in the West Palm Beach (Boynton Beach in particular) to buy and hold. 

Want to learn more about the area, find a good local Agent, good inspector/contractor.

Longer term looking to grow my real estate skills and portfolio.  Looking forward to learning a lot here.
