@Tim J.  @Wale LawalThank you both for the replies and advice, I appreciate it. I am part of the local REI group here, have found an agent and am talking to lenders etc, will continue to build my network as I know this is key. Have still just been feeling like I'm operating in a silo, maybe because the community is smaller here, I'm not sure. Nevertheless, social media, kicking tires and offering up help more is all great advice, thank you :)

Hi everyone,

I'm a software developer and new real estate investor beginning the process of buying my first property. Originally from Denver, I recently relocated to Tulsa, OK and plan to start my REI journey here.

At this stage, my most crucial next step is finding a mentor. I'm feeling isolated, overwhelmed, and often unsure of my direction.

My goal in posting here is to connect with a seasoned investor, willing to take me under their wing and give me some guidance as I navigate my first deal.

As a staff-level software engineer, I have extensive experience in technology, leadership, and project management. I’m proposing a mutually beneficial arrangement: in exchange for guidance, I’d love to assist with any aspect of an investor's business. (I’ve been learning everything I can about the business and am eager to get hands on experience).

If this is of any interest, please shoot me a message!

I'm planning to house hack either a SMF or a SF with an ADU in Tulsa (value add properties so am embarking on renovations), intending to use it for an STR/MTR. This strategy aligns well with my passion for all things design.

Anyway, thanks for reading and your consideration, looking forward to connecting regardless.
